Since her debut on So You Think You Can Dance, Christina was signed to Atlantic Records and has performed with some of today’s top artists including Jason Mraz and Bruno Mars. Currently, Christina is making her first official music video for “Jar of Hearts.” She created a behind the scenes look at the music video, which includes SYTYCD’s very own Allison Holker and Kathryn McCormick. In the clip, Christina said, “I really hope that the video connects me to the song and entertains all of the fans of So You Think You Can Dance because it’s because of them that this even happened. I really hope that they love it. I hope that they love the dance…and that they just feel like we did this song justice with this video.” Check it out:

Lauren Froderman is America's Favorite Dancer!

Just hours after being crowned America’s Favorite Dancer, Season 7 champ Lauren Froderman opened up on a press call about her experience on So You Think You Can Dance. The 18-year-old was still in shock, very appreciative, and she’s looking forward to the tour.

Lauren received great compliments throughout the season, but the one that stuck with her the most was judge Mia Michaels’ comment on Wednesday night’s show. “The most memorable comment that will stick with me forever is when Mia Michaels said if she was still dancing she’d want to dance like me. I look up to her – the whole dance community looks up to her – and it means so much to me.”

In the first-ever all-star season, Lauren said that dancing with all-stars “really pushed us to work even harder because they really brought something new to the table, and we were still trying to figure out how dancing on TV works. They made our lives easier and harder at the same time. I’m grateful.” What was the best advice she got from an all-star? “The ones who told me to be confident in myself and not think about it being a competition. I was always so nervous for ballroom because it’s not my style, and Pasha would always tell me to be confident and that I knew the steps and i just needed to be in character and let go. Sometimes you hold back because you’re scared but you need to just let go.”

During the first few weeks of Season 7, Lauren got some criticism about smiling too much and dancing like a competition dancer. How was she able to overcome that so well? “I was raised as a competition dancer and acknowledging the audience is what we were trained to do. Being on the show made me realize it’s not all about the audience. It’s about getting into the character…and having the audience want to come in instead of trying to pull them in. The all-stars are definitely a big help on how my performance improved. They were always the best support for us contestants.”

The last girl standing didn’t expect she was going to win. Lauren shared, “I was completely shocked. I really, really thought it would be Kent. The whole room is filled with teenage girls screaming for Kent. He gets a ridiculous amount of fan mail. I am so honored and humbled that it was me. I never dreamed it was going to be me.” Lauren explained her mindset throughout the competition, saying “I wanted to stay as long as I possibly could and I wanted to learn and I wanted to grow. I wanted to be with these new friends and this new family that I made. I don’t think there was a moment where I thought I would win, but there were moments where I wanted to stay.”

After Cat Deeley announced that Lauren is America’s Favorite Dancer, it was so loud in the studio she didn’t get a chance to say anything. “I was just so blown away; I did not expect to win. The fact that so many people believed in me and supported me was just so crazy. The feeling that knowing people are very happy for you and they don’t even know you and are voting for you is so crazy. I feel so blessed and so humbled and nothing will replace the feeling of happiness I felt last night.”
What’s next for the recent high school grad? Of course she will be heading out on the 40-city tour this fall. After that, Lauren “would like to go into acting and get an acting coach. I’ve been singing for the past two years and want to keep training in that. I want to be as versatile as possible because I’d like to book jobs and work in movies and TV. Especially right now while I’m still young and have a ton of energy.”

America’s Favorite Dancer would like to say, “Thank you and I’m just so grateful. I’m just so honored to be America’s Favorite Dancer and just to inspire people. It touches me to be able to experience this and have a positive impact on somebody’s life. I’m just really grateful.”

America's Favorite Dancer is Lauren Froderman!

The seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance came to a spectacular conclusion last night as Lauren Froderman, 18, a Contemporary Jazz dancer from Phoenix, AZ, was named America’s Favorite Dancer and danced off with the cash prize of $250,000. She will be featured on the cover of Dance Spirit magazine, and will be the first-ever dancer featured as an athlete in Gatorade print ads in select publications and online at www.gatorade.com.

Fellow finalists – Kent Boyd and Robert Roldan – were eliminated as host Cat Deeley revealed the voting results. Lauren had this to say about winning So You Think You Can Dance: “I cannot even believe how amazing this journey has been! I feel so blessed, and am so grateful to my family, friends and fans. Thank you for believing in me and naming me America’s Favorite Dancer. This is truly a dream come true. Thank you, America, it was an honor dancing for you!”

In addition to naming America’s Favorite Dancer, the Season Seven finale of So You Think You Can Dance featured performances by this season’s Top 11 dancers. The celebration also showcased the judges’ favorite routines from the season – including a very special dance number by tWitch Boss and Ellen DeGeneres – as well as performances by Russell Ferguson and Lil C; indie rock duo Black Gold; dance sensations Quest Crew; 7-year-old tap dancer Luke Spring; Charlie Bruce, the winner of the U.K. version of So You Think You Can Dance; and tap-dancing siblings the Manzari Brothers.

This season’s Top 7 dancers will participate in the 40-city So You Think You Can Dance Tour 2010. The tour kicks off Sunday, Sept. 19 in New Orleans, LA, and tickets are on sale now. Click here for more information.

Who will be America's Favorite Dancer?

Who will be America’s Favorite Dancer? Tune in to So You Think You Can Dance tonight, Thursday, Aug. 12 at 8/7c on FOX, for one of the most-anticipated television events of the summer featuring a very special performance by Ellen DeGeneres and tWitch Boss.

The 12 All-Stars have partnered the Season 7 contestants all summer.

We recently caught up with So You Think You Can Dance’s first-ever all-stars. Week after week they’ve put out some of the most memorable performance in SYTYCD history alongside the talented Top 11 of Season 7. Here is what some of the all-stars had to say about being back on the show that launched their careers.

Mark Kanemura has been on tour with Lady Gaga, performed with Carrie Underwood, and more, but it’s So You Think You Can Dance that gives him butterflies. “The show itself gives me so much anxiety and so many great memories too,” Mark said. “It’s nice not to get judged in front of millions of people this time.”

Dominic Sandoval was on Season 3 of SYTYCD. Then he went on America’s Best Dance Crew with fellow SYTYCD finalists Ryan Conferido and Hok Konishi and won. Now he’s back on SYTYCD as an all-star. “Going from solo to crew back to solo has been crazy. This is more fun because we don’t have to worry about the competitive side as an all-star, but we do always make sure our partners look good.” Allison Holker agreed with Dominic and said, “Making our partners look good and easing their minds is our role.”

If Dominic could tour with anyone he’d pick Justin Bieber. “We’re friends,” the all-star said with a smile. Allison had a very different choice, “Any girl my age that’s a dancer would love to tour with Janet Jackson.”

Season 7’s only ballroom all-stars, Anya Garnis and Pasha Kovalev, have had the pressure on them to dance everything from Argentine Tango to Viennese Waltz. They have been on So You Think You Can Dance as contestants, choreographers, and all-stars. “We’ve done everything but judging. Perhaps we’ll try that in Season 8,” Pasha joked.

Courtney Galiano, Comfort Fedoke, and Lauren Gottlieb have put aside their busy schedules shooting TV shows (they were all on Glee) and commercials to partner the Season 7 contestants. Courtney summed up the craziness of life on So You Think You Can Dance by saying, “I’m blessed to be stressed!”

Neil Haskell and tWitch Boss prepared for their roles as all-stars by taking classes, watching videos, and brushing up and studying their genres of dance. tWitch shared his favorite part of dancing on SYTYCD saying, “It’s the process that I like the most. Performing is amazing, but it’s the whole process which is what really sets off the performance for me. You get to bond with your partner and really mesh. Everybody puts their egos down and you put everything into it to pull off a great piece.”

Ade Obayomi and Kathryn McCormick had performed as contestants on the So You Think You Can Dance stage during this past year. Both all-stars will hit the road this fall on tour with some of the other all-stars, the Season 7 Top 7, and Season 6 champ Russell Ferguson. Kathryn explained, “It was really crazy to me out of all the people they could have chosen, they picked me to come back. It just really meant a lot to me and so I was kind of taken back by it and really excited to come back again and perform. I had just done it…but to be on the stage again and to meet new people that I grew up watching has been amazing. Being on the show is the hardest that you’ll ever be pushed. You’re always exceeding the limits that you think you have and being pushed past that.”

AdeChike Torbert came in fourth place on Season 7.

Contemporary dancer AdéChiké Torbert was one of very few dancers to never fall in the bottom three. He made it all the way until the second-to-last week before receiving the fewest number of votes. We caught up with AdéChiké on a press call the morning after his elimination to learn more about his thoughts on being critiqued, going on tour, and more.

Getting critiqued by the judges can be really tough, but AdéChiké had America’s support throughout his run on Season 7. AdéChiké explained, “It’s hard to stand up there and take the negative criticism, but it only made me stronger and made me want to fight more. I’m thankful I had the fans’ support.”

AdéChiké said the best advice he received from the judges was to have fun. Over the past couple of weeks, the judges kept praising him for coming into his own. What changed? “I stopped dancing for the judges and started dancing for myself,” the New York native said. “I wasn’t looking for their approval any more.”

Growing up in Brooklyn, AdéChiké found it tough to be a male dancer. He hopes to have changed the perception of male dancers and told us, “I hope that dancing is now cool in guys’ eyes. I hope I can be a role model and an inspiration.” To the SYTYCD hopefuls of the future, AdéChiké advises, “Stay focused, and if you love something just stick with it no matter what anyone says. Follow your heart and your dreams and be a master of your destiny. Just create it.”

Early on in the season, AdéChiké mentioned that Desmond Richardson is a huge role model and inspiration for him. Fortunately, AdéChiké had the opportunity to have a dance choreographed for him and all-star Kathryn McCormick by Desmond this week. AdéChiké said this became his favorite dance of the season. In addition to performing this dance on tour, AdéChiké hopes he gets to reprise his duet with Kent Boyd – the Dee Caspary Contemporary piece. “That was a really fun piece and I hope it makes it on tour,” AdéChiké commented.

With so many injuries this season, AdéChiké was one of the lucky ones to make it out unscathed. What did he do to stay healthy? “I tried to get as much sleep as possible and warm myself up. I listened to my body. Our bodies take so much abuse on this show; we’re constantly pushing ourselves. If something didn’t feel right I’d let the choreographer know.”

What’s next for AdéChiké? After the fall 2010 So You Think You Can Dance Tour, he’d to a lot of different things in show biz. “I’m in the process of getting an agent,” AdéChiké revealed. “I would really like to do some things on Broadway. I’m also thinking about moving out to L.A. to get into TV and movies.”

To all of his supporters AdéChiké says, “Thank you to everyone. It’s been such an awesome journey. I’d like to thank the fans for putting me through every week. It’s such a great opportunity and I encourage all dancers to at least audition. It’s an amazing opportunity and I’m excited to see where the future will take me.”

Kent Boyd, Lauren Froderman and Robert Roldan were named this season’s So You Think You Can Dance Top 3 finalists after an amazing 10 million votes were cast last night. Eliminated tonight was AdéChiké Torbert, 23, a Contemporary dancer from Brooklyn, NY.

This week’s results show also featured special performances by rap sensation Flo Rida, smash recording artist Janelle Monáe and Complexions Contemporary Ballet founder Desmond Richardson.

The final performance show, airing Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 8/7c on FOX, will feature the ultimate showdown between the Top 3 finalists as they compete to impress judges Nigel Lythgoe, Mia Michaels and Adam Shankman and capture America’s vote. Immediately following the performance show, the phone lines will open and viewers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite remaining finalists.
