Season 10′s ninth and eighth place finalists – Pia Toscano and Paul McDonald – are both venturing into the world of acting.

Pia and E! announced today that the singer will have a role in an upcoming film called Grace Unplugged. Pia said to E!, “I’m so excited about my very first acting role in Grace Unplugged. I’m honored to be a part of this amazing film, and my character is a reflection of me, which makes this special for me.” In fact, Pia’s role of Alyssa was written for her and is loosely based on her. Also, several news sites are reporting that Pia was in talks for a guest role on GLEE, and although the part fell through, the showrunners loved her and hope to have another role for her.

Paul McDonald tweeted last week, “Had a great time on the set of @nbcparenthood Such an amazing cast and crew! Thanks for having us!” The Hollywood Reporter shared that the Idol finalist will play the role of a musician who performs in Crosby and Adam’s recording studio. Paul’s wife, Nikki Reid, is a talented actress and screenwriter known for her work on Thirteen and the Twilight movies.
