It’s an unreal feeling to even type that subject line. Whitney Houston has had one of the most profound impacts on singers today, including the American Idols. Her vocals are unmatchable, as judge Randy Jackson always advises the Idol contestants to avoid singing a song by the big three: Whitney, Mariah, and Celine.

Many contestants have performed her songs on American Idol, including during auditions this season, or list her as an inspiration.
