Hey "Supernatural" fans! Below are three clips from the CW show's Sept. 10 season premiere, "Sympathy for the Devil."
To see my recent interview with the show's creator, Eric Kripke, about the show's history and what's to come for the Winchester brothers in Season 5, go here. My take on past seasons of the show are here and here.
I know what TV Guide critic Matt Roush did this summer: He spent the hot months catching up with the show's previous seasons (I'd done the same thing earlier this year; I became a hardcore "Supernatural" convert during Season 4).
"I took the plunge with the goal to catch up with Supernatural in time to enjoy this year’s pivotal and possibly climactic fifth season of apocalyptic mayhem alongside the loyal fans. It’s the best decision I made all year," Roush wrote. For more on why he enjoyed his time with Sam and Dean, read his "My 'Supernatural' Summer" post.
OK, without further ado, here are the clips and an episode description of the season premiere. Spoilers ahoy!
Clip 1: "Chunky soup"
Clip 2: "I'm just supposed to trust you?"
Clip 3: "Any other hunt?"
Finally, here's the CW's summary of the episode: "Has Hell been unleashed? Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) discover the consequences of breaking the final seal as the series’ fifth season opener picks up right where we left off – with Lucifer walking free and the first signs of the apocalypse beginning to be evident. Also stars Misha Collins as Castiel and guest stars Jim Beaver as Bobby, Kurt Fuller as Zachariah, Mark Pellegrino as Nick, Rachel Miner as Meg and Rob Benedict as Chuck. 'Sympathy for the Devil' was written by Eric Kripke and directed by Robert Singer."
