Paula Abdul has sat on the American Idol judges’ panel for all eight seasons of the show. Through the years, she’s dished out much praise for the singers, made good luck jewelry for them, and always keeps Simon in check.
Paula’s career started when she was a Laker Girl (a Los Angeles Lakers cheerleader). She then became a noted choreographer and pop star, who has collected a Grammy Award, seven MTV Awards, two Emmy Awards, two People’s Choice Awards, and two Kids’ Choice Awards. In addition, Paula received the honor of having her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was inducted into Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Hall of Fame.
Over the past two years, Paula has gotten back into making music. Last year, Paula collaborated with Randy Jackson and created the song “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.” The music video for the song featured Paula’s vocals and Randy on the electric guitar, and it was showcased on a Season 7 results show. At a Season 8 results show, Paula took the stage for the very first time on Idol to perform her new single, “I’m Just Here for the Music.” This song is the first song off her new album which she plans to release this fall.
