So, to me, Obamas plan is the lesser of two evils.&lt;/blockquote&gt;

Hi Peggy, welcome.

You apparently missed the entire point about our guest writer&#039;s post. Note that there is a liberal contributor as well you can read if you cannot grasp the problem.

The point in his article, and a point we extrapolated into our main article on health care, is that you are already paying huge Social Security and Medicare taxes. Those taxes will not go away. And in a state that is the model, and in which the state claimed premiums would drop, they instead soared 40% or more in one year! So, in addition to paying huge taxes to the state and federal government for health programs, you now get to pay a hidden tax of thousands of dollars to subsidize the sick, elderly, homeless, etc. It is welfare, it is easily abused and it is what we have been trying to get away from for decades.

Massashusetts, however, is not called Taxachusetts for nothing.

The closest analogy to this type of health plan is like no-fault auto insurance, where all the good drivers pay for all the bad. Eventually, no one can afford insurance. Happened in Boston, and they had to dump that Democratic brainstorm when one year of car insurance in Boston exceeded the value of the car. This is vastly worse.

Our point in our article is if you want National Health Insurance like Canada, do it! Don&#039;t force the middle class to pay a huge invisible welfare tax. Make it a nationwide, no dodge insurance. Not something the abusers and welfare lovers can jump on whenever they feel like it.</description>
