Since the Annenbergs backed McCain as did at least one member of the board, and since Ayers, an Education Professor, was also on the board, we can then say that McCain had a connection to Ayers if we were as desperate as McCain’s supporters were.

It is pathetic that the Ayers connection is even brought up. People are so easily led by the nose.

I’m surprised to hear so much negative stuff in the news about the project. What was wrong with the project in Chicago? It was a great opportunity in Michigan with great student outcomes. I am a retired curriculum specialist from Highland Park Schools in Michigan. My district wanted to become a part of the Annenberg Challenge in Michigan. However we didn’t have the capacity to write the proposal for an Annenberg project at our schools because we didn’t have a science coordinator. It was a heavy science/technology project. In the end we piggy backed on Detroit Public Schools’ participation in the project and were able to have some access to the educational modules that were created.

In Michigan the project was headed up by the University of Michigan. In Michigan it was a fantastic project with many of the heavy weights in education collaborating on the project. I was particularly glad to see U of M outreach to Detroit Public Schools and actually come into the city to collaborate with teachers and students. I am a U of M grad, both my bachelors and masters degree, and unlike the other universities in Michigan, U of M doesn’t outreach in the inner city. That’s been one of my disappointments with my alma mater. Looking forward to your reply

Your idea of the definition of conflation is rather confused, which is appropriate for you. You seem to think that I merged identities of people in some way that isn’t relevant. Manson was a revolutionary terrorist that had people murdered to start a revolution. Ayers was a revolutionary terrorist that bombed public buildings trying to kill people. The fact that he failed in the process of trying to murder others doesn’t make Ayers swell in my book. And the congruence of the two personalities is quite accurate, except that Manson ended up not being able to beat the rap like Ayers and Manson did not admit his crimes openly like Ayers. Note that Ayers did this in 2001 and said he would do it again and endorsed Osama Bin Laden.
